A community arts organisation has revealed its vision to convert Seacroft Methodist Chapel into a bespoke arts and broadcasting centre in the heart of East Leeds. Heads Together has managed to raise the £800,000 plus needed for the conversion of this building. Project – Funds to support grassroots gardening

Public Health multi-million pound shortfall

Councils across Yorkshire are facing a multi-million pound shortfall in the money the Government’s own figures suggest they need to meet new responsibilities on public health. Leeds, where there is a 10-year gap in life expectancy between the richest and poorest parts of the city, will be facing a 14% funding gap, or around £6m. [04/02/2013 YP]
