A landlord with several multi-occupied properties in Leeds has been fined for disregarding tenant safety.
Mr Henry from Kirk Hammerton in York, appeared at Leeds Magistrates Court on Thursday 24 January where he was found guilty and ordered to pay £8,400 in fines and £5,000 towards costs to the council.
The offences related to seven licensed houses in multiple occupation in the Roundhay, Moortown and Woodhouse areas of Leeds. Mr Henry failed to provide gas safety and electrical safety certificates after numerous requests for all properties and he also failed to comply with HMO licence conditions relating to fire safety on six of the properties.
